Walk-in and pop-up vaccinations are available throughout Shropshire without an appointment for first, second doses, and at some selected sites, boosters:
- If you are aged between 12 and 15, if you choose not to have your Covid-19 vaccine at school, you can book your vaccination online for an appointment at a vaccination centre or pharmacy. Some of our local vaccination sites also offer walk-ins – details of which sites do, listed below.
- If you are aged 16 or 17, you are eligible for a first dose only of the Covid-19 vaccine and can walk-in without an appointment.
- If you are aged 18 and over, in an at risk group, a carer or a frontline health and social care worker who has not yet had a vaccine, you can have your first vaccine dose, and if you have had your first dose at least eight weeks ago, you can have your second vaccination without an appointment.
- If you had your 2nd dose at least 6 months (or a minimium of 182 days) you are now eligible for a Covid-19 Booster. You don’t need to have been notified by the NHS to walk-in or book an appointment via the National Booking Service for your Covid-19 booster.
- For those aged 12 and over who are immunosuppressed a third primary dose should be given at least 8 weeks after the second dose. You will be asked to provide proof of eligibility. Please note, you will still need to receive a booster dose six months (182 days) from the date of your third primary dose.
- People should have the same type of vaccine for their second dose as for their first dose unless there are exceptional circumstances.
- People should wait 28 days after a positive PCR test to have a first or second dose of the Covid-19 vaccination.
- Women who are pregnant are advised to have the Pfizer (or Moderna) vaccination.
